History - Thomas Smith dates back to 1848 when William Jennison Smith opened the doors of his shipping agency in Valletta, Malta. He called the company Thomas Smith for his son who followed in his father’s footsteps and carried on with the same services his father had established.

Today - Four generations later, the business is still owned by the heirs of Thomas Smith and the organization has gone from strength to strength, diversifying itself to turn the challenges it met in 160 years of history into opportunities.
